Today's trip fared well, slow bite in AM but turned around as the tide picked up. Many limits to 9lbs even the two newbies had 6 nice fish up to 6lbs. Got to see a dragger accidently pick up a boat and dragged him for about half a mile! Bass, Tog give Capt Vinny a call what more do you want?

11/15/11
Here's a brief rundown of the past few trips.Sunday we had two boats out Capt Bobby Singer hitting the local "hot spots" did a bang up job on blackfish. Limiting out with multiple releases fish to 9 lbs., this was a followup to another stellar trip on Saturday. Meanwhile Capt Frank and I have been targeting striped bass. The night tide trips have been special fish to 36 lbs and many husky fish mixed in.

Daytime fishing has been very consistent. baitfishing site casting and trolling all yielding some quality fish. Sunday Sky trying out his new fly rod boated several bass into the mid teens this among quite a flurry of surface feeding bass.

Headed off with Capt. Vinnie Sunday. We caught bass on the troll, jig, popper and fly. The wheelhouse was nice and cozy and the bite was hot. Karen Ann never disappoints. Capt Vinnie is a great fisherman and is always on the bite. Now is the time...the sand eels are heeeeere. Just finished bass supper. Thanks Capt.

Great day with Captains Vinnie and Frankie aboard the Karen Ann. Clammed just outside and got an easy boat limit of stripers to about 20 lbs. Fair amount of shorts too and some giant skate too. Always a good time on the Karen Ann

10/29/11

We went out in some nasty conditions, rain, wind heavy seas and finally heavy snow...capt vinnie still managed to put us on some fish

10/23/11

Boarded the Karen Ann with Captain Vinny while Captain Frank took the other boat out with a charter.

Bait was finicky today but both boats limited out with fish in the mid 20s in near perfect conditions. New angler David got his taste of fall fish for Stripers in J-Bay with 3 while high hook Tom W bagged a whopping 6 keepers. I got in my meager 2.5 keeper - the .5 was a fish I got on a crossed line after the original angler cut the line after the fish when under the boat.

Great day on the water. Thank you Mate Andy! Hope to get one more in before the year is out. Tight lines.

10/22/11

Tuff one today scratched out a catch for Lance and guest, one boat was in the shipyard.

Did not get much of a chance to fish the last month but was luck enough to get a last minute spot on Karen Ann this morning - (330am).

One throw by Capt Vinny was enough secure the bait. We hit the jetty and on the second and third drop boated 11 bass.

After that the Capt moved and worked around the beach but not much action was to be had.

I was happy and surprised that we are getting bass at the end of July - Tight Lines.

Frank had an afternoon fluke trip and stayed in Jamaica Bay bending the rods very few keepers a lot of action.

7/18/11

Captain Vinnie out with lou gary and guests this morning. It was a boat limit and multiple, multiple releases with bass to 30lbs+ all on live bunker.

------------------

Today I landed a 37 and 38 lb striped bass on live bunker. I also had another LARGER BASS straighten out a hook on a bunker snagger, but I did get a decent look at a very LONGGGGGG & LARGEEEEE Bass.

I've been an avid bass fisherman since 1997. I've NEVER had one straighten a hook on a snagger before. I had the drag on the spinning reel set pretty lightly too, for fear of ripping the hook out, or breaking off the bass due to bunker belly nicks in the line.

The first run that bass gave me seemed to go on forever. I thought we'd have to chase it with the boat! Finally the fish stopped and I got her turned. I had her coming and gained back allot of line just not enough. I saw her on top 30-40 ft behind the boat. UHG! Big fish don't just bend your hook straight, they break your heart.

Thankfully I was given 2 more chances for reprieve and all went right with the 2 beauties that came inside the boat.

We hooked up 3 other bass landing one of them. Surprisingly almost shockingly it was only a 28-30" fish? What was THAT doing there with those COWS????? 2 others were broken off and I didn't get a look at them. They were estimated as BIG though not as big as mine.

A great day was had by all. Rounded it out trying for some fluke only decking a few shorts that went back.

Thanks to my dear long time friend Capt.Ed Parker of the Karen Ann fleet for showing us a fantastic day! Pics to follow,....hopefully.

Bass were caught on live bunker and chunks...this is only my fourth time fishing live bunker so I still have much to learn, I honestly should have landed at least 4 more fish than I did...Capt Vin Ripped into me real good ahahhaha.... the bite has been different each time I fished live...we had just about every fish to 15lbs or better...25lbs was the largest...full boat limit and we threw several back!!

Capt. Vin and the Karen Ann are one of the best Bass Boats in the business....he has been on fish every single day except for maybe three days since April...AMAZING!! Great group of guys to fish with today...3 doctors, a lawyer and a gentleman who has been retired for the past 6 weeks....way to go guys!!

Hi guys, my first report ever. 6 guys on the karen ann chater out of howard beach ny. while on the lobster boat we caught 15 stripers in last 2 1/2 hours of fishing today a.m. not to far from shore line near riis. kept only limit and all others released. it was a wonderful last half of trip. we all limited on striped bass using live lining bunker. i was high hook at 5 fish and lost one while attempting to gaff fish, i think we lost a total of 5 fish all together but still limited out and released some too. what a day. cant wait too learn how too post pictures. capt frank you did it! thanks capt vinnie, lol!

Fished with Dennis and Pete on the KA today and Capt Vinnie didn't let us down. He put us on some nice big bass. Vinnie took us to a place he hasn't tried this spring but had had success in early June of past years and the fish were there big time.

It is very hard for a fisherman to keep throwing back 20 pound fish but you can only keep 2 so thats what we did.

Dennis had the biggest a nice 34 pounder. Pete was high hook with 7 and I had 5 bass and a big blue fish. (ORL).

Thanks for the great morning Capt!

5/25/11

Took my son out yesterday on Vinnie's fast new boat for a striper fiesta. Same old story...limited-out boat followed by some c & r. My son kicked my backside hooking-up right and left. 5/13/11
I never thought Capt Vin could be under the weather...at times he seems inhuman for those of you who know him well, but regardless he was still out fishing this morning haha after getting about 2 hours of sleep.

Had the pleasure of fishing with Capt Eddie and Capt Vin...I caught 3 keepers (ORL) in the low to mid teens...but we sure had to work for them...bunker kept diving deep, Vin must have thrown the net over a Dozen times....very odd day out there, sometimes the bass want bunker and sometimes they don't...we eventually got to the bass using some different techniques..Capt Vin is prepared for everything and will put you on the fish regardless....The bass are around just not biting as much as they should be and not as many cows due to the slower start thanks to weather and water temps, it will blast off any day now and when it does Capt Vin and the Karen Ann will be waiting!
----------------------------
Had John,Lou,Dave, & guest out today. Captain Vinnie had em at the dock with a full boat limit this morning! Nice day on the water.

Although we were a few short of limiting out, the boat was very productive with fish to the high teens. We even got a few blues for good measure.

Brief rundown of recent weeks activities: up in the sound bottom fishing remains strong plenty of porgies mixed sizes to please, while back on the south shore bluefish pretty consistent and a few bass in the mix, Friday Capt Eddie wanting to get a few licks in before the blow banged a mid thirties bass livelining with me.

08/21/10
Brief summary, last week did the splits fished north and south shore bluefish charter for Mike Borrelo and family on the south shore yielded some big blues on live baits, while earlier in the week Ivan, Barrington and guest enjoyed great porgy fishing in the sound.

07/30/10
Change of pace today; this afternoon excellent bluefishing, big fish by summers standards up to 12 lbs. Jigs, top water lures on light tackle accounted for most of the fish , but really they weren't too finicky. sight casting to breaking fish pretty easy.

07/25/10
Plenty of striped bass action today, plenty of keepers limit for CP, Richie and guest, and plenty of releases. Typical summer fish trolling and light tackle casting. Scale down your lumber and enjoy. Back it up with a bottom trip and you get a double dose.

07/24/10
Brief summary of the last few days. We concentrated on bottom fishing with the heat wave the bass are small some keepers culled out on Saturday morning for Ivan and Barrington, then south and east touching various wrecks and bottom. End result some quality seabass, porgies of mixed sizes and short fluke, Highlite was Alex's seabass over 6lbs.,but then again large fish are nothing out of the ordiary for our own A-Rod. I'll still be bassin daily and nightly and moved one boat into the sound, so we'll see how that develops.

07/20/10
A light tackle excursion today proved pretty enjoyable. bunker schools east apparently void of life for the moment, returning to home base bass and bluefish on poppers and an assortment of jigs. No size to speak of but action non the less. Thursday p.m has a late night extended trip if your interested buzz me. Friday and Saturday afternoons we'll be doing some specials also.

07/18/10
Jumbo porgies, the finest kind for Captain Ed and his charter. If your a porgy "buff" or jonesin to battle these mamouth porgies nows the time. We'll be doin split charters targetingbass in the dawn and nights then switching to bottom species.

thanks for another great day on the water Capt
We sure did cover alot of water today!
Lots of bass and BIG blues in the shadow of lady liberty.....its always an adventure with Capt Vinny... and he always finds the fish!!

07/15/10
Alexander and friends from Borough Park had a great morning of bassin' aboard my light tackle boat, with scaled down tackle the bite was steady. Live baits as well as chunks fit the bill. Limit on bass into the upper teens with many releases sent on their way to grow up. Plenty of blues mixed in. Any light tackle buffs this would be a great time to sling some lures and flies.

Single, alone? don't sweat it Karen Ann's got you covered.

07/14/10
Cp, Frank, Ed McDonald and Tony bass to 20 lbs live bait and chunks produced. Some bluefish in the mix as well and some toothy critters duskies into the 50-60lbs range.

07/12/10
Had the editor from Long Island fishermen on board he and some guest put together a catch bass into the mid teens, small compared to the bite before the moon, and some jumbo blues. and as a bycatch a few duskies.

Took my son on the Karen Ann this morning. Meeting time: 3:30 AM. We were on the big boat captained by Ed. We traveled very far in search of Bunker. Lots of pods, lots of boats, no bass underneath. I did not see a single bass brought up on any of the zillion boats around us. So Ed made a snap decision to take our live bait to the jetty. There I hooked up with the nice-sized bass pictured...the only one on the boat, and maybe in the bight! Vinny & Co. are the best in the business...but if the fish are not around you aint catching them. Let's hope the fat lady wasn't singing during this new moon.

07/10/10

The McDonalds enjoyed some excellent fishing on yet another trip today. Limiting out on some quality fish and memories.Dare I say a Kodak moment.

The fishing downeast was off today. Several factors hampered the bite; a vetching sea backed by easterly winds, less than desirable tides and boat traffic. Still we managed to slide a few fish on the deck I had three boats out mixed results nothing up to my standards.

07/09/10

I had two of my boats out both with exceptional catches by some talented anglers. Limits as well as hopes of stellar fish were filled early. Numerous forties and multiple releases.

07/08/10

Today was yet again a very special day, our good friend/mentor Tony aka "the hawk" was aboard with a group from the seeing eye dog foundation. Skippy his new working partner was also aboard as was Mark his trainer and guest. Fish too numerous to count probably over 25 and then some to the low forties. Tony will be aboard and available should you have a special needs friend who fishes. And as part of "our fishers of men program" they come as our guest.

07/07/10

I was honored today by having as my guest Sgt. Caves, both a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, because of his bravery, heroism and dedication to our country I am able to go fishing without incident. Our fish tales cannot compare to his story. I wish to thank him for fishing and sharing the morning with me. If you wish to fish with a true hero we dedicate the boat to the Wounded Warriors the first Wednseday of each month. This mornings trip limit on bass low forties 42 and change going to Srgt. Caves, all quality fish.

07/06/10

this morning Jim, Anthony and friends also limited out 48.16 on the scale for Captain Eddie who rode shotgun with me, several over forty and better than ten over thirty once again multiple releases to boot. all in all good day of fishing.

July 3rd. Booked a birthday trip with Big Ben , Steve SRMAGG44 and his partner in crime this past Saturday Aboard the Karen Ann , What an unbelievable day it turned out to be..BIG BIG BASS coming over all day. Vinny says hey skunk, Wanna come out as my guest Monday morning... I look at him..Absolutely Capt. .let’s do this..

We started the day with a couple of Smaller bass probably in the 15 lb class , I was oh oh ,not the big ones like the other day…NOT… One of the guys next to me get a sick run , At the same time I feel my line ripping from my reel , felt like I got caught by a passing boat , I noticed that I wasn’t caught on anything , I had me a big fish on , I pulled back and it felt like I was stuck ,all of a sudden line starts peeling again, Oh My God , this is one big fish , hey vin in about 10-15 minutes I’m gonna need a gaff , this lady had me fighting her for about 15-20 minutes it felt like..And when she surfaced my eyes started up like the first time I saw boobs in a movie..Gaff..Gaff..Capt. Quickly came over and gaffed me this fine specimen of a bass..Ladies and gentleman..Skunk is now an official member of the 40 Club , Weighed in at 43 lbs..It was one of those special days aboard the Karen Ann , Here are a few of the pics I already have, the rest will follow..Once again I would like to Thank Capt. Vinny for Looking out for da Skunk and taking me to the land of the giants..ps..two other 40+ fish were taken that trip and the rest were from 35lbs to 39 lbs..I also have to congratulate Pete on his personal best of 39 lbs and 36 lbs, my brother Gus also landed a personal best of 37 lbs... Last nights' charter did very well. Once again cow bass. Multiple fish in the 30+ pound range with the biggest fish close to 40 pounds.
This mornings charter also featured quality bass to into the 30 pound range.
Cows galore right now and Capt. Vinnie is right on top of them.

44.5lbs, 42lbs several mid to upper thirties, no runts today quality fish live bunker

06/30/10b
Had the pleasure to fish with Capt. Vinnie of the Karen Ann yesterday in the evening.
Located a nice school of fish and proceeded to bang away at numerous fish. Every single fish was 25 pounds and better. Biggest fish was 41.5 pounds on a boga grip.
All fish except 1 were released.
There are some HUGE fish around now. Right now is the time to hop on with the Karen Ann and pursue your 40+ pound fish.
P.S. Had a fish hooked up that I couldnt budge. Was fighting the fish for 10+ minutes when the fish spit the hook. Easily estimated at 50+ pounds.

06/22/10

Another great morning plenty of bass, quite a show as some surfaced and did their thing working the schools of bunker. Chauncey from Coram made the trek to Jamaica bay and wasn't dissaponted. His limit with releases, were his rewards for the day.

06/21/10

Another great morning for Eric from Long Beach, he his dad and guest limited out on striped bass and released quite a few.

06/20/10

We had another GREAT time with Capt's Vinnie And Eddie this this weekend as tons of fish hit the decks of the Karen Ann fleet. I stayed with the live bunker all weekend but chunks produced lots and lots of fish as well....most fish between 14-20lbs but plenty of 25-35lbrs to keep it plenty interesting!!

loads and loads of fish released this weekend

06/19/10

Friday night good bass bite, on both live and chunks, Saturday morning Three of my boats were out two bass fishing one targeting seabass and stripers an extended trip. Ok on the striper trips earlt a.m. both boats limited out with multiple releases. Quality fish live baits accounting for most. Captain Bobby meanwhile steamed offshore hitting some wrecks and bottom that a seasoned veteran has. Well experience pays because he caught very well. I'll be running more of these special trips hitting both species a shot at the bass early and then running off.

06/18/10

Hit the Karen Ann yesterday morning 6/5 for the 4am trip. We left the dock around 4:15, jetted over to get some fresh bait, Capt vinny netted about 150 fresh live bunker for the 3 boats, and we were ready to rock. First drop was about 4:50 am and boy it was a good one. I was on the skiff with capt Eddie at the wheel, we were all hooked up within minutes. Biggest fish being around 30 lbs. Spot was red bot for about an hour, we were limited out by 7 am. Played catch and release on some other drifts and had some fun, shared some stories, good day. We were back at the dock by 9:45 all with big bass. My hats off to capt vinny for running a great charter service and hats off to capt eddie for getting us on the fish. Also mate scot was great, really knows his ....

06/04/10
Two of my boats were out, both limiting out and then some with carefull releases on the overtures.Fish to 28 lbs. Live bait accounted for all. Fishings pretty good, pictures to follow. Nice day a couple of kids under twelve decked a few jumbos, with Captain Bobby at the helm. Capttain Eddie rode shotgun with me. Total probably close to forty keepers.

06/03/10

I had two boats out today and despite some difficult conditions thirty bass to 26lbs. Live bunker seemed to do the trick.

I was out on that trip Capt and I think you are seriously understating the facts (to your credit Smile). The conditions were bad enough that I was concerned we wouldn't have a trip. Pea soup fog thick enough to qualify as Capmbell's selects, difficulty seeing far enough to even see a bunker splash (they were kind of far and few between early on), difficulty seeing well enough to limit the places you might fish due to the travel conditions (low vis/ hi speed make strange bedfellows), difficulty seeing well enough to make consistent drifts a chore at best and wind conditions that simply overpowered the drift sock. All of these occurred on this AM's trip and we still limited out on both boats!!!. Everyone on board caught fish. If I lived across the pond i'd say "Brilliant".

6/02/10
Today I had the honor of fishing with my guest from the Wounded Warriors. Needless to say the fish didn't have a chance. Limit and then some fish into the mid twenties. Not only are they outstanding members of service they are outstanding fishermen. I was not only impressed, but much the better for having them on board.

6/01/10
YESTERDAY AFTERNOON CAPTAIN VINNIE AND I WERE JOINED BY DOV, ITCHY AND HIS 3 KIDS. THE GROUP OF 5 MANAGED THEIR LIMIT AS THE FISH TURNED ON LIKE CLOCK WORK.
I HAVE TO SAY ITS GREAT TO SEE KIDS REELING IN MONSTER FISH, JUST THEIR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS IS PRICELESS!

5/31/10
TODAY BOTH BOATS HAD THEIR RESPECTABLE LIMITS BY DAYS END, WITH FISH TO 26LBS. DOUG AND BRENDON WERE HIGH HOOKS TODAY ON EACH BOAT WITH A LITTLE OVER A HANDFUL OF FISH BETWEEN THEM. CAPTAIN VINNIE EVEN MANAGED TO PUT HIS GUYS ON A DECENT BITE OF BLUES IN THE BAY BY JIGGING SOME COCKTAILS AFTER THE BOAT ALREADY LIMITED WITH THE BASS.

5/30/10
AFTERNOON WAS A COMPLETE SLAUGHTER, AFTER FINDING BAIT IT ONLY TOOK 2 DRIFTS FOR 6 VERY LUCKY FISHERMEN TO CATCH THEIR LIMIT AND RELEASE SOME REALLY NICE QUALITY FISH IN THE 20 LB+ RANGE!

5/29/10
QUALITY FISHING ALL AROUND TODAY FOR ALL 3 OF OUR BOATS, WITH FISH TO 25LBS, A FEW LIMITS CAUGHT..

5/27/10
I've been working the AM trips on the K.A. Since Tuesday Morning. EVERY trip MORE than limited releasing many BIG keeper sized bass. Bass fishing is ROCK SOLID and at it's BEST! Especially on this Moon!!!

Today I worked the deck for Capt. Eddie's charter and what a trip it was!!! 4 BIG BASS over the 30lb mark!!!PLUS a 42LBER!!!!! We boated 18 keepers for 4 hearty souls who got a full workout for their tackle and battle weary muscles. , 26, 30, 31, 32, 42 respectively and a solid smathering of bass from the mid teens to lower 20's.....ORL.

Capt Vin's crew also thoroughly enjoyed the slammer action with bass to 27 lbs. Also releasing a big pile of bass,..ORL.

Our fishing club headed out on Saturday morning with the Karen Ann.
We took off at the normal 4:45am departure time with Capt Vinnie, Capt Eddie and Capt Bob...I presume!? Didn't get a chance to meet him personally, but having fished with the other gentleman more then a few times before and hearing from my friends how the day went on their boat, Bob was up to the task.

We had a strong wind blowing, which made locating and then netting live bait even tougher this morning. Still they took advantage when the fish did come up and we were off to locate the right pieces holding some nice striper.
We had 14 fisherman on board. Club members from CT and NY along with their family and friends who traveled from up north near Rochester to as far down south as Maryland. All had been lured in by the Jamaica Bay Bight and the tales of the Karen Ann.
As one family member put it, "we had a lot working against us yesterday...scattered bait, whipping winds that made boat control difficult and almost impossible to keep us in the strike zone as well as slack tide in the middle of our trip." YET
We limited out on each of the three boats with fish to 22lbs, thanks to all the captains and their mates. They threw everything into the trip. Normally they make it look easy while others around them question and wonder how they're always producing. Today, when the going was tough, they proved why they're such a quality top notch team.
I won't go into all the details of how and what, you can post and I'll gladly answer if you want some notes... but they constantly looked for fish with the hot bite and used a variety of methods. The crew worked tirelessly keeping us with fresh bait, the right tackle and plenty of advice for all levels of angler.
Everyone had a great time and it was a club event to remember with many personal bests being had. Thanks so much to everyone out there with us and Vinnie, if you ever give up fishing..I look forward to seeing you singing some of those power ballads you whipped out yesterday! :)
We'll surely be back again soon to improve on those PB's!

Banged a bunch of bass today with Capt Vinnie on the Karen Ann. We fished the Manhattan Cup, a charity tournament to benefit the Fisherman's Conservation Association and Jacob's Team...an organization helping children with autism. Not only did Capt Vinnie put us on the fish, he took time out of the busiest part of his season to take part in this charity...there is no doubt that today actually cost the Captain money. Thanks Capt Vinnie and all the other Captains that took time today to fish the Manhattan Cup ...we had a blast and released some great fish.

5/14/10b
Capt Eddie and I had Billy, Steve and Dave out today!
Bait was pretty tough to come by this morning but we managed a couple of dozen baits for the well and off we went!
We managed to limit out by 8:30 with fish into the mid 20's, with not 1 fish being under 15lbs!
At one point we managed to have 4 on at 1 time!
High hook was steve with 5 keepers(only keeping his legal limit of course) as he was bailing on them with an ultra light spinning rod with 12lb test!
We then played catch and release for almost non stop action until 10am then called it a day!

Fished the late afternoon trip with Capt Vinny and mate Garry. Bait was very hard to come by but Vinny managed to grab a few pieces and off we went. The bite turned on with the tide and was fast and furious - unfortunately it only lasted a short time. Still we managed some quality fish to just over 20lbs.

5/13/10b
Today all 3 of our boats sailed and yet again it was absolutely nothing but business as usual for us as all 3 boats caught there limit!
We saw a much bigger body of fish today as the average fish was around 15lbs, with the biggest weighing 30lbs!
A very notable mention to little Blaze who sailed with his father and Capt. Eddie Parker today. Blaze was High Hook with 5 keeper Bass today into the low 20lb class range! Way to go!!

5/12/10 Posted by customer on Noreast.com
Fished the Karen Ann this evening and Capt Vinnie makes limiting out so easy.
Left the dock at 5 got bunker by 5:45 boat had it's limit in about 45 minutes. Fish in the 14-20 pound range.
Capt Vinnie has had a lifetime of fishing in the bay and just knows where to find the fish. He knows almost every inch of Jamaica Bay. He knows the habits of the bass as if he was swiming with them. Almost always correct where he tells you to put your lines in the water. Tonight was a prime example.
If you have never livelined bunker you should put yourself on a trip with the Karen Ann. You will go home with fish for dinner.
Basil again thanks for dinner great fishing with you guys

5/11/10

All I can say is WOW...What an excellent day...wind was fishable this morning (starting cranking by 10am) as we left the dock at 5am...bunker were a bit elusive but Capt Vin found them and we were off to live lining....

With over 100 years fishing experience between Capt Vin and Capt Eddie (who were both on the same boat with us) we had a wealth of knowledge and were put immediately on the fish....some larger fish have moved in as both I and Gary had fish in the upper 20's to 30lb range.(really fat fish feasting on loads of bunker)..the rest of the fish were a healthy teen size....about 6 blues between 8 and 10lbs to round off the catch....

5/08/10 reported by customer on Noreast.com

I went out with Capt. Vinnie this morning and as usual Vin put us right on the fish. we had a full boat limit in about an hour and continued to play catch and release for most of the day. All fish were caught on live bunker ...a few jumbo blues rounded out the catch..

05/07/10
We had four trips today, all catching bass into the upper teens Mike Borreli and friends limited out, while the other trips also did well. The afternoon trip Franco and his party also limited out. The fish were caught both livelining and bucktailing. we'll be continuing the late night bass trips due to the good response, these will be late night tidal trips that will aproach fishing with live baits and plugging in the back bays, some skinny water fishing.

5/05/10
TODAY BOTH KAREN ANN BOATS MANAGED TO CATCH THERE LIMIT OF BIG BASS TO 35 LBS! SMALLEST FISH TODAY WAS AROUND 13 LBS! A FEW FISH WERE IN THE MID 20'S TODAY!

BETWEEN BOTH BOATS CATCHING THERE LIMIT AND PLAYING CATCH AND RELEASE FOR A WHILE WE MANAGED 25 KEEPERS IN ALL!

ALL FISH WERE CAUGHT ON "LIVE" BAIT, NO TROLLING!

CAPT. VINNIE AND MYSELF ARE LOOKING TO DO A SPECIAL 11PM TO 4AM TRIP 2MRW(THURSDAY) NIGHT FOR 4 ANGLERS! THE TIDE WILL BE PERFECT AND CAPT. VINNIE FEELS PRETTY SURE WE WILL GET SOME VERY LARGE FISH!

After reading Noreast reports since last spring about how Captain Vinny catches stripers almost at will, I called my man Neal Fox and booked 2 walk-ons for this morning. We left the dock at around 5:30AM in search of bunker. Unfortunately they were not around. So Vinny went to plan B. He requested that we not disclose his plan B technique, but let's just say Neil and I maxed out in short order. Once we started fishing, I had a nice keeper on the boat within 60 seconds. The fish were up to 20 pounds. We only caught one short which of course we safely released. After we all maxed we played catch and release for a while and were back to the dock at around 11:30. Captain Vinny says it is much better with the live bunker. I don't know how it could have been better than it was. Thanks Vinny and thanks to the mate whose name I did not get, but he is also at the top of his game. This is a fishing experience that should not be missed. Book this boat and you will not be sorry.

4/18/10

Today saw some "GREAT" bass fishing aboard both of The Karen Ann boats! Both boats limited out today by days end! The fish today ranged from your average keepers to some nice fish in the mid teen range. We had a group of skillful anglers out today who were determined to get there first limits of the season!

These fish were caught on a variety of bay techniques that included live bunker, and light tackle. Considering the date and the weather conditions of late the bass fishing is doing extremely well.

9/02/09

We were out the the last two mornings for some really fun false albacore fishing. Albies were breaking all over the place, feeding on anchovies and spearing. We used light tackle spinners casting deadly dicks, small rubber shads, poppers, and live peanut bunker. Everything worked extremely well. Yesterday morning we landed over thirty albies, today we landed just about the same. Our new 26' C Hawk center console is available for charter. 4 person max for spinning gear and 2 person for fly rod.

8/21/09

WE HAVE ALSO HAD OUR SHARE OF THE STRIPER ACTION AROUND THE SOUND WITH BASS TO 18 LBS.
DUE TO THE HIGH DEMAND OF CAPT. VINNIE'S LIVE BUNKER STYLE OF FISHING WE WOULD LIKE ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS TO KNOW WE ARE BRINGING ALL 3 BOATS OVER TO THE NORTH SHORE BY THE END OF THE WEEK SO THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM!

Went out with the Karen Ann 6 pack on Sunday morn 4:30 am. Caught some bunker and chunked and lived lined a bunch of big ones. Great boat Capt. Rich put us on the fish and Mate Scoot was hard working. Thanks for a great day from me and my family.

6/26/09
We left the dock at 2:30pm yesterday with the intentions of traveling far south in search of LARGE bass. We filled the livewell with bunker and began our run. 5-10kt southern forecasted winds turned to 20kt winds but we continued south knowing it would be on our back going home. 2 hours later and 30 miles from the dock we were into acres of bunker off the Jersey beaches. After a short while we were into big bass. We ended up boating 16 bass, all but 1 fish was over 30lbs and the biggest fish went 44lbs on the scale. Truly exceptional fishing for our area.
This morning we had two boats out for local bass fishing. The fishing was fantastic! Capt Eddie took sammy and friends out and they ended up landing over 20 bass to 20lbs using live bunker and chunks.
The other boat was run by capt Vin and myself and we ended up with over 30 keepers and a dozen shorts.

6/21/09 reported by customer
It appears the fish are starting to move to cooler waters, accordingly, today Captain Vinny and Captain Ed anchored us just off the Breezy Point jetty.
With diligence but little effort, the Captains leaned on their experience to put us on some quality fish. Some of us were more proficient in hook ups but we all went home with fillets as the boat limited out up to the mid 30lbs along with a bunch of releases.
Also notable today was the wide variety of species caught including a ~4ft thresher shark (released) and 2 massive (+9lb) fluke. It hurt but the out of season fluke were released.
Kudos to Vinny and his friends (pictured) for a fine day out fishing.

6/17/09
We had a light crowd today. Capt Vin and Ed took out Bucktail Bob, Illia and his guests out on one of the Carolina skiffs, and I took the other skiff out with just myself and Frannie aka Franie's feet. Fran took a personal day from work today and it was well worth it.
On my boat, the two of us landed over 30 keeper bass to 20lbs and about a dozen shorts. Hits came just about instantly. Unfortunately, we also dropped a big weakfish boat side.
I didn't get the report from Capt Vin but their group has similar action boating their limits and carefully releasing MANY fish using a 12" Baker hook remover. We highly recommend this tool if you are catching + releasing because it allows you to gently back the hook out without removing the fish from the water. Even with gut hooked fish!

6/14/09
Live bunker and chunks were the meal ticket for some crafty bass as the back bay continues to produce, adan, jose, mike, nick,ed,and ilea limited out with several releases fish to mid teens.

6/12/09 reported by customer
Fished on the Karen Ann this morning with Staten Island Pete and a new guy lets call him red hot Joe who had a dozen fish.
Total for the day was about thirty keepers. Don't worry we only kept our limit.
Everyday I should have that kind of fishing (I wish)...
As usual Capt Vinny today with Capt Eddie and Mate Scott did a fantastic job.
The bass fishing remains red hot.

Are you kidding me?? Capt Vinnie has been working in the same place I work..I have been there for the last 4 years and had no idea he was a captain of one of the best bass boats I have ever fished with...go figure, small world!
As for the trip....outstanding!! This was my first time live lining bunker/chunking (which we caught before the trip started, I used a snow shovel to put them in the livewell)...The tip here is to let the fish eat and once that line begins to run...you whack um! I was a little out of sorts at first and out of my element, but after a little while I lightened up my tackle realized I was not fishing in Orient Point and I got my smack on.....5 keepers (ORL) to 15lbs...out of the 2 boats that went out and a total of 8 fisherman we had close to if not over 50 bass with 40 plus being keepers....nothing huge as the largest fish was about 20lbs...but it was still an amazing experience...Thanks Capt Vin and well I guess I will see you at work! hahaha

Fished the Karen Ann this morning with Capt Eddie on the helm. Bob and myself in the stern. Great day! 3 of us had 10 keeper bass up to 20lbs.(only keeping our limit)
When you limit out by 6:30 AM catch and release is so much fun....

6/02/09
We had a couple of slower mornings over the weekend due to extreme boat traffic and stagnant weather conditions but that has past. Yesterday morning and today the fish fed pretty hard.
Carmine,Walter, and their group limited out by 7am this morning and played catch and release for the rest of the day. Congrats to Walter on his 32lber. We had both carolina skiffs out and they limited out as well.

5/27/09
The Bass fishing was excellent today. We had all the boats out this morning and everyone limited out early with bass into the 30lb class. Very fast bite!
On my boat we left the dock at 4:30am sharp. We caught our bunker for the livewell by 5am and began fishing by 5:20am. By 6:15 6 guys had their limit of bass to 22lbs in the boat. We worked a few different areas for the day and landed some more bass, a bunch of blues, and a 14.1lb weakfish. I believe the total for today for the day was 18 keeper bass landed.

LIMIT ON BASS FOR KEVIN AND FRIENDS FISH TO UPPER THIRTIES,LIVE BUNKER THE BAIT OF CHOICE

5/25/09
AGAIN ALL 3 OF THE KAREN ANN BOATS SAILED TODAY! AGAIN ANOTHER DAY OF QUALITY BASS FISHING TO 30 LBS WITH LIGHT TACKLE IN THE SHALLOWS! PLENTY LIMITS OF BASS CAUGHT TODAY! THE BASS FISHING IS RED HOT ONCE AGAIN!

5/20/09
Sunday night we had a couple of evening trips for bass that produced some pretty big fish for Jamaica Bay. Ronnie, Timmy and friends were out on one boat and ended up with 9 bass to 40.5lbs. The 40lber took a live
bunker and headed straight for the anchor line.
On the other boat Mark, Chris, and Chris ended up with 7 bass to 30lbs.
Monday morning we had three boats out for some live-lining action. Pete, Steve and friends were out on one boat and ended up with limit of bass.
Timmys group landed a limit of bass as well on the other boat. The third boat had a late start and only ended up with 3 keepers and one 15lb weakie. Lately an early start is a must to improve your catch.

5/17/09
The fishing over the last few days has been excellent. Using live bunkers and chunks, most charters have limited out with bass to 30+lbs. One fish caught by little Rich was in the mid-upper 30lb class. We're still waiting for the official weigh in. Jumbo blues have been pretty thick but we've been fishing through them and have been rewarded with good catches of bass. Many missed weakfish bites with telltale fang marks in the bunker as well.
The morning trips have produced non-stop action with many blues mixed in with the bass. The evening trips have been producing less blues with some larger bass in the mix.

5/13/09
The Bass fishing in Jamaica bay over the last few days has been nothing short of amazing! We have been landing fish in the 30lb class just about everyday and some big weakfish have shown up as well. All fish caught on live bunker and chunks.
Yetserday in the am we landed 2 Bass over 30lbs and a 15.5 weak. In the afternoon we landed a bass weighed in at 36lbs.
This morning we landed one Bass over 30lbs and a 17lb weak weighed in at crossbay B+T.

FISHING TODAY WAS GREAT ABOARD BOTH OF THE KAREN ANN BOATS WITH BASS TO 30 LBS!!  ALMOST EVERYONE ON BOTH BOATS HAD THERE LIMIT WITH THE BASS AND BLUES!
THE BIG BOAT HAD A 30 POUNDER ALONG WITH ALMOST EVERYONE CATCHING THERE LIMIT!

5/9/09
The fishing has been fantastic over the last few weeks. Some trips are better than others but just about every trip has been limiting out + playing catch and release. We did have one bad trip due to the rediculous amount of blues that day but even that day we landed a few keepers and a bunch of blues.
The Night bite has been has been just as good if not better than the day. Most of the action at night has been on bunker chunks and heads with less blues and more bass. Last night was an awesome trip. Danny and his crew landed over 20 keeper bass nad about a dozen blues.

Fished on the Karen Ann today with Pete, Sherman, Eddie, Alex and Capt Vinnie leading the way. Bunker were alittle hard to find this morning but Capt Vinnie as always came thru and we loaded up.
The early morning bite was also a little slow, by the way by early morning I mean about 4:40AM. Vinnie had a hunch of where the fish were so we made a move and by 7:50 we had 10 keepers in the boat. Pete was not only high hook with 3(only keeping his limit) but also had the biggest fish a nice 16 pounder. I had 2.

4/30/09
The fishing remains solid in Jamaica bay. We fished all over the bay today and had fish on just about every drop. Live bunkers and chunks worked equally as well.
We had 2 boats limit out today + play catch n' release with fish to 20lbs.

Went on a trip today with my good freinds on the Karen Ann. Capt's Vinny, Richie and Eddie, put us all on the meat today. Live bunker was the hot ticket today.
I was high hook & pool winner on the skiff today & I landed 6 keepers to 18 lbs ( retaining only my limit of course & releasing the rest to fight another day). Everyone was catching bass today. It was a good, solid, steady pick of action all morning.
It's ONLY the beginning!
